Reminds me of Larry Niven in one of his books, where he has a guy
abandoning an oppressive Earth in a sublight speed starship at near-
light speed. As the guy gets old and wrinkly, the computer suggests
several immortality options. One of them is grinding himself to an
pulp, extracting the RNA paste and sticking it into a pithed clone.
The guy shudders and says no to that one.
