Hi,

just joined the list. I think I better explain what I have been doing in my
life.

Things I used to do:

studying history and philosophy.
Learn languages, both computer and natural.
Work in the UK & US, mostly as an editor and writer (computing mostly...)

Things I do now.

Live in India.
Am still an editor;-)
Read books about mathematics. Mostly calculus and number theory
Write another book (a history of computer science). Got the outline done.
Paint every now and then.
Read poetry.
Be interested in astronomy (planetary, mostly, not much interest in stellar
astrophysics or high-energy observational astronomy)
Talk to interesting people (Yes, that's how I met Udhay)
Spend time with my wife. Got married in June last year...
listen to lots of classical music (Western, - I just got started on
Carnatic)
Defend and advance the cause of free software.

Well, hi everyone! I stand in awe before the minds assembled here.

Before I forget: I tried to write a PhD on the concept of infinity in
medieval Middle Eastern thought. I loved it, but ran out of money.
